Control Valves

Control valves direct flowing gas, steam, water & chemical compounds to compensate for load disturbance and regulate process variables as close as possible to desired set points. EMERSON offers a series of proven and innovative solutions designed to help customers reduce factory maintenance costs, lower investment requirements, and enhance process availability.

FISHER Globe Control Valves

Globe control valves utilize linear motion to open and close the valve by moving the closure member in and out on the seat surface, to control the flow rate, pressure, and level of the fluid. Emerson Globe Valves are available in a wide range of valve sizes (NPS ½ through 36), and can address the various types of applications needs: from small to large size, high to low temperature, general purpose to severe applications, delivering high performance and reliability. Emerson Globe Valves are available with a variety of cages or plugs that can be interchanged to modify the inherent flow characteristics to achieve reduced flow, noise reduction, and mitigation or elimination of cavitation.

FISHER V-Ball Valves

A segmented ball valve is similar to a conventional ball valve, but with a contoured V-notch segment in the ball. This control valve has good rangeability, control, and shutoff capability. As the ball closes, this V-notch creates a shearing effect, minimizing particle adhesion. This design makes it particularly suitable for handling erosive or viscous fluids, pulp, or other slurry fluids containing mixed solids or fibers. The V-notch ball has been specially contoured to increase capacity and enhance seal life and shutoff integrity.

FISHER Eccentric Rotary Valves

A style of rotary control valve with a plug-shaped, flow-restricting member that follows an eccentric path as it rotates. The plug has no contact with its seat until it turns within a few degrees of the shutoff position. The plug has no contact with its seat until it turns within a few degrees of the shutoff position. As the plug contacts or “cams” into the seat, the seating surfaces dynamically align to achieve shutoff. The eccentric rotary control valve is specifically designed to control erosive, coking, and other hard-to-handle fluids, providing either throttling or on/off operation.

FISHER Butterfly Valves

Butterfly valves are a type of rotary valve that use a rotating disk to control flow through a pipe. The disk is generally operable through 90 degrees and provides a linear flow characteristic. For throttling control applications, one type of butterfly valve is now the industry standard: high performance butterfly valves (HPBVs) or double offset valves. Their advantages include a straight-through flow path, very high capacity, and ability to pass solids and viscous media. High performance butterfly control valves are intended for general service applications not requiring precision throttling control.

FISHER Severe Service Control Valves

Severe service control valves are used in extremely challenging severe service control valve installations in process plants that commonly include cavitation, erosive, corrosive, noisy, high pressure, high temperature, high pressure drop, or high velocity media. In order to extend equipment life under these severe service conditions, these control valves typically utilize extremely hard materials capable of withstanding extreme temperatures and pressures. valve bodies with special flow paths, high capacity valve cavities, and cages with unique flow passages. Fisher offers a diverse range of special valves for severe service applications to address the customer's on-site needs.

FISHER Steam Conditioning and Desuperheating

A desuperheater injects a controlled, predetermined amount of water into a steam flow to lower the temperature of the steam. To achieve this efficiently, the desuperheater must be designed and selected correctly for the application. Although it can appear simplistic in design, the desuperheater must integrate with a wide variety of complex thermal and flow dynamic variables to be effective. Steam conditioning valves control steam pressure and temperature by combining both functions within one integral control unit. These valves address the need for better control of steam conditions brought on by increased energy costs and more rigorous plant operation. Steam conditioning valves also provide better temperature control, improved noise abatement, and require fewer piping and installation restrictions than the equivalent desuperheater. Fisher offers different styles of desuperheaters that can be combined with control valves to form a desuperheating and depressurization system, effectively reduce the temperature of superheated steam to the desired set point.

FISHER Positioner

As a common control valve accessory, the valve positioner delivers pressurized air to the valve actuator so that the position of the valve stem or shaft corresponds to the set point from the control system. Valve positioners are typically pneumatic or analog I/P and are used when a valve requires throttling action. They require position feedback from the valve stem or shaft and deliver pneumatic pressure to the actuator to open and close the valve. EMERSON offers diverse range of valve positioners, including smart positioners, pneumatic positioners and electrical positioners.

Isolation Valves

Isolation valves are designed to block the flow of gases, liquids, slurries, or powders to ensure the effective and reliable execution of valve shut-off commands within process flows. These valves typically operate in either fully closed or fully open positions to direct process media. Lined Valves

Lined valves are a type of valve used in petrochemical industries.
