• Ease of Use

The GULDE 3800SA is very easy to use. For first-time installation, the user will find it easy to install the feedback system without a linkage. Once the magnetic strip has been fitted to the stem, replacing the positioner is simple, as there are no physical connecting parts between the stem and the positioner.
One of the basic functions of the GULDE 3800SA Intelligent Positioner is to provide the user with a local interface for configuring, calibrating, and adjusting the instrument. With the I/O package installed, the user can calibrate 4-20 mA valve position transmitters and set limit switch actions. The instrument can be calibrated and adjusted to a specific actuator by running a quick setup program.
The local interface utilizes a full-text display for easy operation.

• Superior Performance

The two-stage positioner design provides an excellent mechanical platform that allows the valve to respond to small input changes for tighter process control. Digital calibration calculations allow the instrumentation to achieve the optimum response to rapidly actuate the valve to the desired position.

• Valve Diagnostics

Local User Interface: The GULDE 3800SA instrument comes standard with an LCD display. Instrument and valve diagnostics are built into the instrument firmware to alert the user in the event of problems with the installation, electronics module, hardware or valve performance.
Handheld Field Communicator: The GULDE 3800SA instrument is equipped with user configurable alarms and alerts. Alarms such as travel deviation, travel limit, trip totalization, and stroke totalization can indicate the current status of the valve and instrument as well as potential problems.

• With I/O Option Packages

The GULDE 3800SA can be supplied with an I/O option package with two integrated limit switches and a valve position transmitter. The limit switches can be set to any position within the calibration stroke range to indicate open and closed status. The valve position transmitter sends a 4-20 mA signal to verify valve position feedback. As an integrated part of the instrument, this optional module avoids the difficulty of installing external switches and transmitters.

• Conventional 4-20 mA Systems

Since the GULDE 3800SA uses a 4-20 mA control signal, it is a direct replacement for older analog instruments. The microprocessor-based electronic module offers improved control performance as well as repeatable and reliable configuration and calibration.

• Integrated Control System

Control systems with HART communication capability can collect information directly from the GULDE3800SA smart positioner. Information such as valve travel, alarms and alerts can be accessed in full from a secure area of the control room, giving an overview of the condition of the equipment in the field.
